    Development and reform of medical and health services, Hospital development and reform, and Emergency medical rescue in the sudden incidents

Professor Shuqiang Xu is an Affiliate Professor at Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF), a Chair Professor, the Director of the China Hospital Development Research Institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Vice President of China Health Economics Association. He is also an economics postdoc, professor, chief physician and doctoral supervisor. Professor Shuqiang Xu has been a member of the 11th and 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and a member of the Committee of Science, Education, Culture, and Health. He is selected for National Talent Plan and granted special allowances from the State Council. Professor Xu served as the Chief Physician and the President at China-Japan Friendship Hospital. He also worked as the Director of the former Health Emergency Office (Emergency Command Center for Public Health Emergencies) at National Health Commission (NHC) and the Director of the Department of System Reform at NHC.

Professor Shuqiang Xu's research focuses on the development and reform of medical and health services, hospital development and reform, and emergency medical rescue in the sudden incidents. Professor Shuqiang Xu has been engaged in research and management practice in the field of medical and health for a long time, committed to deepening the design and implementation of medical and health system reform policies. In terms of theoretical practice for the challenges of medical reform, and the practical path of medical reform, he has proposed innovative ideas and effective measures. He has made pioneering contributions to the theory and practice of emergency health response and medical rescue management in China. Professor Xu is proficient in the development, reform, and operation management of large-scale high-level hospitals and has in-depth theoretical research and rich practical experience in the reform and development of hospitals at all levels in China, as well as modern hospital management and governance.

Professor Shuqiang Xu has led multiple national and provincial-level scientific and technological research projects and serves as a reviewer for various national-level projects. He has also played a leading role in drafting several important national policy documents related to deepening medical reform. He has edited and co-edited several monographs, including "China's Medical Reform Development Report (2022)" and "China's Medical Reform Development Report (2021)" (published by Social Science Literature Press), "Talent Management in Chinese Hospitals" (published by Peking University Press in 2022), "Hospital Management New Edition" (published by Peking University Medical Press in 2008), and "TCM Diagnosis and Research on SARS" (published by Hebei Education Press, winner of the National Book Award Special Prize in 2003). Recently, he has published numerous academic papers in publications such as Guangming Daily, Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration, and China Hospital Management.
