Professor Wu Xiaoqiu is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is a renowned Chinese financial economist. He previously served as the Vice President of Renmin University of China (2016–2020). In 2006, he was appointed as a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor by the Ministry of Education, and in 2022, he was approved as one of the first national first-class professors in philosophy and social sciences by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. He currently holds the positions of Dean of the National Institute of Finance at Renmin University of China, Dean of the China Capital Market Research Institute, Director of the Research Center for Sino-US People-to-People Exchange under the Ministry of Education, and Editor-in-Chief of Economic Theory and Business Management.

Professor Wu's research interests encompass macroeconomics, financial reform, and capital markets. He has published over 200 high-level academic papers in leading journals such as Social Sciences in China, Economic Research Journal, Journal of Financial Research, Finance and Trade Economics, Management World, Economic Theory and Business Management, and Review of Applied Economics.

Professor Wu currently serves in several academic and advisory roles, including: Convener of the Applied Economics Discipline Evaluation Group of the State Council’s Academic Degrees Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Finance Professional Degree Graduate Education Guidance Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Teaching Advisory Committee for Finance (Undergraduate Education), Vice Chairman of the Expert Consultative Committee on Professional Degree Cases in China, Vice Chairman of the Academic Advisory Committee of the China Listed Companies Association, Vice President of the China Education Development Strategy Society and China of the Higher Education Professional Committee, Vice President of the Modern Finance Society, Executive Director of the China Society for Finance and Banking, and Member of the National Expert Committee on Ecological and Environmental Protection.
