Dr. Wei Wang is an Affiliate Professor at the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is also the Founding Chairman of China M&A Association (CMAA) and the Chairman of the Museum of China Finance. Professor Wang has previously served as a longtime visiting professor at CEIBS and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business; as an expert on the Investment Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Europe (OECD); as a corporate governance expert at the Shanghai Stock Exchange, and as an independent director of more than 20 listed companies, both domestic and overseas.

In 1988, Professor Wang participated in the writing of China's Securities Market Regulation Proposal (the White Paper) in the United States and in the establishment of China's first private equity funds, securities companies, trust companies, and credit cooperatives. He presided over the creation of the China M&A Association in 2002 and of more than ten financial museums with different themes in 2010. He participated in building the Global Finance Museum Association (IFFM, USA) in 2013 and in the creation of the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC, Switzerland) in 2017. He has published more than ten monographs.

Professor Wang received his doctorate in economics from Fordham University and a master’s degree in finance from Tsinghua PBCSF. He also received a bachelor’s degree in infrastructure construction from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics.
