Dr. Jianfei Sun is a Term Associate Professor at the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Prior to joining SAIF, Professor Sun served as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Nevada, Reno, USA. Since September 2010, he has been imparting his knowledge at the Antai College of Economics & Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and at the Institute of Social and Economic Research at Nanjing Audit University. Additionally, he holds the position of Joint Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Economics and Management at Tongji University.

 

Professor Sun's research interests encompass ESG, corporate social responsibility, corporate earnings management, corporate finance and governance, and accounting and capital markets. His scholarly work has been published in Economic Inquiry, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, and Journal of Finance and Economics. Professor Sun was selected for the 5th batch of the National Academic Accounting Leader (Reserve) Talents Program organized by the Ministry of Finance in 2014, and by the Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program in 2012.

 

Professor Sun has a wealth of experience in teaching and training consulting, particularly in the fields of accounting and finance. He has been teaching many courses, including “Principles of Accounting”, “Corporate Finance”, “Financial Reporting and Analysis” and “Corporate ESG: Cases and Practice”, which have become integral to the MBA/EMBA programs. His exceptional teaching skills have earned him the title of Prominent Teacher at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

 

Professor Sun received his Ph.D. in Finance from University of Southern California in 2006.
