Dr. Wensheng Peng is an Affiliate Professor of Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Chief Economist and Head of Research at China International Capital Corporation (CICC), and Dean of the CICC Global Institute. He also serves as a member of the Shanghai Municipal Government decision-making advisory committee, a member of the Currency Board Committee under the Hong Kong Exchange Fund Advisory Committee, a member of the China Finance 40 Forum, a member of China Carbon Neutrality 50 Forum, vice chairman of the Chief Economists Forum, co-head of the Research Institute of National Innovation and Finance at Nankai University, graduate advisor at Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance.

Professor Peng has previously served as the Global Chief Economist at CITIC Securities, Chief Economist at Everbright Securities, Chief China Economist at Barclays Capital, and head of the Economic Research Division and head of Mainland China Affairs Division at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, as well as an economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He has participated in national economic situation expert meetings.

Professor Peng has published numerous papers in domestic and international academic journals and authored several books in both Chinese and English. In 2015, he won the inaugural Sun Yefang Financial Innovation Award for his book "The Dissipating Dividend—Seeking New Balance in China’s Economy." In 2018, he received the sixth "Golden Sheep Award" for financial books for his work "The Ascending Financial Cycle."
