On April 21st, Professor Jun Yang, Dean of Nanyang Business School (NBS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), visited the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), accompanied by Yaoqiang Peng (Associate Dean at NBS) and Huijuan Liao (Director of the ASEAN-China Program, NBS). The delegation was received by Shijun Cheng (Executive Dean at SAIF), Hong Yan (Deputy Dean at SAIF), and Xuan Luo (Deputy Dean at SAIF). The two sides held in-depth discussions on talent development, brand building, and curriculum systems.

Professor Cheng welcomed the delegation and thanked them for NBS’s continued support. He noted the strong foundation for collaboration between the two institutions and expressed his desire to further expand cooperation for mutual benefit.
Dean Yang praised SAIF as a top-tier international finance institute with strengths complementary to those of NBS, and expressed his eagerness to deepen the partnership and advance both institutions’ global influence.
Professor Yan introduced SAIF’s academic conferences and exchange programs, and called for joint efforts to develop broader international platforms.
The two sides also held focused discussions on non-degree program collaboration models. Professor Luo highlighted SAIF’s guiding philosophy for its non-degree programs - “Finance-focused and Interdisciplinary”. In recent years, SAIF has not only launched China’s first curriculum system in Innovation Finance but has also earned wide recognition for its talent cultivation outcomes. He looked forward to exploring diverse collaboration models with NBS for high-impact joint programs.
Discussions also covered AI-related curriculum and the development of the SAIF Southeast Asia Center.
Both sides reached a preliminary consensus on deepening cooperation, beginning with executive programs that draw on their complementary strengths and the distinctive China-Singapore dynamic itself, to open a new chapter in their partnership.
