Shanghai-Hong Kong Youth Development Program Successfully Concluded

The Shanghai-Hong Kong Youth Development Program, hosted by the SAIF Hong Kong Foundation and organized by SAIF, recently concluded in Shanghai with outstanding participation from over 40 students from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and other renowned institutions worldwide.

The program centered on "Finance and Technology" and "Innovation and Entrepreneurship," combining theoretical foundations with practical applications. Executive Dean Shijun Cheng explained that the curriculum covered foundational finance theories—including China's capital market evolution—alongside practical topics such as finance-enabled technological innovation, cutting-edge AI advancements, and venture insights. Through specialized lectures, corporate visits, case studies, and simulations, students developed interdisciplinary thinking and enhanced their innovation and entrepreneurial capabilities.

Professor Alex Cheung, Vice President of HKPU, commended the program's role in nurturing talent with global perspectives and social responsibility. Yingran Liang, Deputy Director of The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai, emphasized the program's value in helping Hong Kong youth better understand mainland development. Hailong Shang, Hong Kong Legislative Council Member and Strategic Advisor to SenseTime, encouraged students to contribute to national development with both global vision and local insight.

Participants with diverse academic backgrounds shared positive feedback. Legeng Lin, a Biomedical Engineering student at HKPU, highlighted how the program encouraged balancing theoretical research with practical application. Lifu Huang, a Marketing student at the College of Professional and Continuing Education, HKPU, gained confidence to transcend academic boundaries and pursue new possibilities.

The program served as an effective platform for exchange and collaboration between Shanghai and Hong Kong. Associate Dean Xuan Luo reaffirmed SAIF's commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two cities and promoting sustainable industry-academia synergy.
