On January 10th, a high-level delegation from Vietnam's Binh Duong Province, led by Executive Vice-President Mai Hùng Dũng, visited the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). The visit featured a strategic closed-door seminar on China-Vietnam Investment Cooperation aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

Professor Yifan Zhu, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs at SJTU, welcomed the delegation by highlighting the university's global engagement initiatives and the significance of this bilateral meeting. SAIF leadership, including Executive Dean Shijun Cheng and CPC Committee Secretary Xinan Zhang, presented the institute's achievements and strategic vision.

Executive Vice-President Mai Hùng Dũng showcased Binh Duong as a premier investment destination in southern Vietnam. The province has attracted 1,200 foreign-funded projects totaling $43 billion from 65 countries, with Chinese enterprises accounting for one-third of these investments. With eight universities in the region, the province seeks to meet the growing demand for skilled talent driven by increased Chinese investment.

Professor Jie Hu, Executive Director of SAIF Southeast Asia Center, moderated the seminar where Mai Hùng Dũng and Mrs. Tran Thi Hong Minh, Head of BECAMEX IDC, presented Binh Duong's industrial advantages. Professor Hu emphasized Vietnam's strategic importance in Southeast Asia and SAIF's commitment to supporting cross-border ventures through the Southeast Asia Center.

The Vietnamese delegation included several key officials: Nguyễn Văn Lộc, Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Council; Nguyễn Thu Cúc, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tu Long Mu City; and departmental leaders Nguyễn Thị Thùy Linh and Zheng Huang Junying. Interpretation services were provided by Đỗ Thị Thùy Linh, a Vietnamese graduate student from SJTU's School of Humanities.

This meeting represents a concrete step toward establishing mutually beneficial partnerships. SAIF plans to leverage its financial expertise and global networks to foster cultural, talent, and economic collaboration between China and Vietnam.

The SAIF Southeast Asia Center, as SAIF's first overseas operation center, aims to integrate Chinese and international educational approaches while expanding SAIF's regional influence through talent development, research initiatives, and international collaborations.
