On August 26th, the "Chinese Enterprises Globalization Escort Program—Blue Ocean Navigator (Vietnam Module)" was launched at the 2024 World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) Asia Pacific Regional Conference. The program, spearheaded by the Southeast Asia Center of Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), is a collaborative effort with WTC Binh Duong New City (a member of the WTCA), World Trade Center (WTC) Haikou, and WTC Singapore. The event brought together global trade experts to embark on a new journey for Chinese enterprises to expand into Southeast Asia and explore new opportunities.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Mingxing Li (Senior Advisor of the Asia-Pacific Advisory Board of WTCA), Xiaolan Zhu (Chief Representative of WTC Haikou), Hongjun Song (Chief Representative of WTC Singapore), and Ting Zhang (Authoritative Editor-in-chief of the Chinese Enterprises Globalization Guidelines, 2024 Edition).
During the discussion session, Professor Jie Hu, Professor of Practice and Executive Director of the Southeast Asia Center of SAIF, shared his insights on the "New Engine of Asia-Pacific, Blue Ocean on Southeast Asia." Professor Hu provided an in-depth analysis of the opportunities and challenges Chinese enterprises face in the Southeast Asian market, emphasizing the importance of environmental protection, social responsibility, regulatory compliance, cultural integration, and supply chain optimization. He also introduced the customized full-range service systems offered by the SAIF Southeast Asia Center to support enterprises at various stages of development.
The Chinese Enterprises Globalization Escort Program—Blue Ocean Navigator (Vietnam Module) is a comprehensive study program that combines academic knowledge, industry insights, and practical services. Through three industry lectures, a visit to the 2024 Vietnam Automation World industry fair, and discussions with over 10 renowned Vietnamese enterprises and business associations, the program aims to provide one-stop support for Chinese enterprises expanding into Southeast Asia. The program will feature scholars from China and abroad, as well as a team of globalization mentors.
Leveraging Vietnam's local resources, the program will offer a full range of services, including talent cultivation, investment guidance, compliance consulting, industry insights, legal support, financial planning, and tax optimization—to accurately match the needs of Chinese enterprises venturing overseas.
This program is the second initiative led by the SAIF Southeast Asia Center in Southeast Asian countries, following the successful launch of the Blue Ocean Navigator - Indonesia Module in January this year. It is expected that the program will help Chinese enterprises advance to a new stage of globalization.
Established in July 2023, the SAIF Southeast Asia Center is the first overseas operation center of SAIF. It aims to become a significant overseas operation base that integrates Chinese and foreign educational characteristics, strengthens research capabilities, and expands SAIF's influence through talent development, research collaborations, and international projects.
