Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) has officially launched the Innovation Finance Track for its FMBA program. The track includes the establishment of the "Innovation Finance" experimental class of 2024 and an exclusive "Innovation Finance Talent" scholarship for the inaugural class.
The launching ceremony and class open day for the SAIF FMBA-Innovation Finance Track was held on July 21st at the Xuhui Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). Haiying Ni—Assistant Dean of SAIFR (Shanghai Advanced Institute for Finance Research) and Executive Director of SAIF FMBA Program—introduced the track's advantages, curriculum, objectives, and enrollment policies.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Talent Development
The FMBA program has launched the Innovation Finance Track in collaboration with various SJTU units, leveraging the university's disciplinary strengths and research achievements. The track aims to build a comprehensive system for transforming SJTU's scientific and technological achievements into innovations. It also seeks to cultivate high-level talent who possess a deep understanding of both industry and finance, and who are adept at strategic capital planning, business decision-making, and corporate governance.
Curriculum and Practical Experience
The Innovation Finance Track focuses on six key areas: artificial intelligence, robotics, new energy, biomedicine, intelligent manufacturing, and aerospace. The curriculum covers core modules of the Finance MBA program, such as "Fundamentals of Finance and Management," "Corporate Finance," and "Capital Strategy of Technology Finance." Additionally, students will gain insights into the entire process of science and technology innovation through the elective module "Innovation Finance Business Strategy."
Students will participate in a "pilot module" led by SJTU professors (scientific entrepreneurs), SAIF professors, industry mentors, and alumni from relevant fields. The SAIF FMBA program will also provide students with practical innovation projects at various stages through the Live Learning Center (LLC) platform, in collaboration with other SJTU units.
Expert Guidance and Keynote Speeches
Each student will receive guidance from experienced scientific entrepreneurs and professional mentors from a business or investment field. This mentorship will help students understand how innovative enterprises develop and build core competitiveness driven by scientific and technological innovation, as well as how to achieve rapid growth and value creation in capital markets.
