On April 19th, a delegation from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (UI FEB), led by Dean Teguh Dartanto, visited the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The SAIF attendees at the meeting included Executive Director Guangshao Tu, Executive Dean Shijun Cheng, Associate Dean Yong Zhang, and Executive Director of Southeast Asia Center Jie Hu.
During the meeting, Executive Dean Shijun Cheng provided a brief introduction to SJTU and SAIF. He emphasized that SAIF's governance mechanism and internationalization philosophy create natural advantages and broad opportunities for international cooperation. SAIF expressed its eagerness to explore further opportunities for mutual visits and exchanges with UI FEB.
Dean Teguh Dartanto commended SAIF's achievements in fostering cooperation with institutions in Southeast Asia. He conveyed UI FEB's willingness to collaborate with SAIF in promoting mutual exchanges between students of the two countries and further enhancing cooperation in areas such as courses, exchanges, and mutual visits.
Following the meeting, both institutions exchanged souvenirs as a symbol of friendship and cooperation.
In the afternoon, the SAIF Southeast Asia Center hosted the "Embracing Indonesia in the Blue Ocean" Exchange Summit and the Industry Mentor Appointment Ceremony. The summit was attended by representatives from education and industry, as well as hundreds of entrepreneurs interested in the Indonesian market.
Professor Hong Yan—Professor of Finance, Deputy Dean of Academic Affairs and Faculty, and Director of SAIF Southeast Asia Center—delivered the welcome address. Dean Teguh Dartanto of UI FEB delivered the keynote address. During the panel discussion, four guests from UI FEB shared their insights on the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. The event also included the appointment ceremony for the first batch of SAIF "Blue Ocean Pilot" industry mentors.
