The inaugural SAIF Annual Research Conference (2025), hosted by the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), was successfully held in Shanghai from June 14th to 15th, 2025.
The conference brought together over 150 scholars, professors, and researchers from leading financial institutions worldwide to explore advanced research across two primary domains: "Corporate Finance" and "Asset Pricing."
A total of 777 paper submissions authored by 1,830 researchers from business schools worldwide were received, with 18 papers accepted for presentation, resulting in a highly selective acceptance rate of 2.3%.
Professor Jun Pan, Professor of Finance and SAIF Chair Professor, chaired the conference. SAIF Chair Professors of Finance Yongxiang Wang and Xiaoyun Yu co-chaired the conference.
The conference featured a keynote address titled "Renewable Asset Pricing" delivered by Professor Harrison Hong, Chair Professor of Finance and Economics at Columbia University.
Six academic sessions facilitated in-depth scholarly exchange, centered on the following themes: AI, ML and Memory; Governance in Networks; Asset Pricing and Macro; Government and Politics; Network; and Public and Semi-Public Goods.
Over the 1.5-day program, scholars from around the world presented their research. All 18 accepted papers received critical commentary addressing research content, frameworks, and methodologies.
The Best Paper Review Committee awarded two papers:
Best Paper Award in Asset Pricing: "Global Production Networks and Asset Prices" co-authored by Teodor Dyakov and Hao Jiang
Best Paper Award in Corporate Finance: "Data as a Networked Asset" co-authored by Bo Bian, Qiushi Huang, Ye Li, and Huan Tang
