On July 8, the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), held its 2026 Annual Teaching and Research Awards Ceremony, honoring professors and researchers who have made outstanding contributions to teaching, academic research, and think tank studies.
Professor Shijun Cheng, Executive Dean and Chair Professor of Accounting, received the 2026 SAIF Teaching Excellence Award, and Professor Jun Pan, Professor of Finance and SAIF Chair Professor, received the 2026 SAIF Distinguished Academic Research Award. The 2026–2027 SAIF Young Scholar Award went to Ran Guo, Assistant Professor of Finance; Yurong Hong, Associate Professor of Finance; and Xiao Zhao, Assistant Professor of Finance. Two researchers, among them Think Tank Assistant Researcher Dezheng Jia, received the 2026 SAIF Young Think Tank Research Award.
Looking ahead, SAIF will continue to use its honorary awards to guide and encourage faculty and researchers to pursue academic breakthroughs and to deepen applied think tank research. By further strengthening its academic environment and its combined teaching and research capabilities, the Institute aims to raise the quality of its finance discipline and its talent cultivation, and to contribute more fully to national financial strategy and to the development of Shanghai as an international financial center.
