The 2026 SAIF Commencement Ceremony took place on July 3rd at the Xuhui Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), drawing more than 700 graduates and welcoming senior leaders and faculty from both institutions.
In attendance were Guangshao Tu, former Executive Vice Mayor of Shanghai and former SAIF Board Chair; Xinghao Jiang, Vice President of SJTU and a member of the CPC SJTU Standing Committee; Feng Zhao, Director of the International Office at the SJTU Graduate School; and Muzhi Wang, Deputy Director of SJTU's Faculty Affairs and Human Resources Departments. Also present were Shijun Cheng, Executive Dean of SAIF; Hong Yan, Deputy Dean of SAIF; Jinggang He, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SAIF Committee; Jie Zhang, Senior Advisor to the SAIF Executive Dean; and Jiang Wang, Senior Advisory Visiting Professor. Rounding out the guest list were two prominent alumni: Xinyi Liu (GES Class I), former President of Shanghai International Group, and Weiming Wang (GES Class III), Co-President of the SAIF Alumni Association.
Xinan Zhang, Secretary of the CPC SAIF Committee, hosted the ceremony.
In the address session, Xinghao Jiang, Shijun Cheng, and Jie Zhang congratulated the graduates, urging them to stay grounded in China's financial practice, build resilience under pressure, and contribute to the real economy in this new era. Xinyi Liu delivered the keynote address, sharing three insights under the theme “Anchoring Coordinates in a Volatile World.” PhD graduate Naide Ye, EMBA graduate Chao Sun, and MBA graduate Xingri Jin spoke on behalf of their respective graduating classes.
Thirty-four graduates received the “Shanghai Outstanding Graduate” award, and forty-six were honored as “SJTU Outstanding Graduates,” with the awards presented by Guangshao Tu, Feng Zhao, Hong Yan, Jie Zhang, and Jiang Wang.
With nearly 9,000 alumni to date, SAIF also recognized its newest donors and class representatives at the ceremony: graduate donors received endowment certificates from Muzhi Wang and Jinggang He, while Weiming Wang presented certificates to the 13 graduates named as class ambassadors. Speaking on behalf of the SAIF Alumni Association, Weiming Wang congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to embrace the spirit of “integration” in their lifelong learning.
The ceremony closed with the awarding of graduation certificates, presented jointly by Shijun Cheng, Xinan Zhang, Hong Yan, Jie Zhang, Nengjiu Ju, Zhan Jiang, Fei Wu, and Zhipeng Yan.
