Tao Wang is a Professor of Practice at Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF), Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Prior to joining SAIF, he was an Executive Director of the Commodity Desk in China International Capital Corporation (CICC). He has also been working in the Fixed Income Division of Morgan Stanley.

Professor Wang is currently doing research on China effect and global commodities price, Asian currency options and pricing mechanism, rare-event/uncertainty pricing and a phonological approach to reflecting the global banking system. Professor Wang also provides consultancy to government and corporations.  He had been standing on the SASAC committee granting licenses to SOEs for derivatives trading.

Professor Wang received his Ph.D. in Engineering Systems at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2005.
