There are 17 full-time professors and 19 special-term professors. SAIF has approximately 560 students, including 330 MBA, 140 EMBA and around 90 MF (Master of Finance) students. The MF program was launched in 2010, the first of its kind accredited by Ministry of Education PRC.

See your career take off from SAIF
Students’ career development is an important index of the success of an academic program. Since the MBA program was launched in 2008, SAIF has seen two years of part-time MBA graduates, majority of whom have achieved a successful leap in career. As for the first batch of full-time MBA students, all of them landed internship this summer, with employers covering brokerage, fund, PE, banking, trust and consulting. They are all confident about their employment prospect next year.

The job placement of the MF graduates is quite encouraging. More than 90% entered finance industry including banking, securities, fund and PE, among whom 30% went to investment banking. The employers include top financial institutions such as JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Temasek, Fidelity, SAFE, CICC and CITICS. The sign-up annual salary tops at RMB 558,000 with the average at 201,000. The figure is among the highest in the average pay of fresh Master graduates in Shanghai. The recognition by the job market towards our students proves the success of our education.

Why SAIF is different in an innovative way?
To distinguish SAIF from other business schools, SAIF sticks to three principles: Go Global, Go Specialized and Go Practice.

Go Global: (1) The curriculum adopted by world’s top business schools is introduced, combined with localized courses on Chinese markets; (2) SAIF boasts of a world-class faculty, including both professors with tenured positions from top business schools and up-and-coming young scholars; (3) The number of international students is constantly on the rise. In this year of 2011, there are 8 full-time students and 8 overseas exchange students studying at SAIF, and the percentage of international students is expected to go up to 30% of all full-time students in 3 years; (4) Full-time program is taught in English with part-time program taught in English and Chinese; (5) The ever extending list of partner schools provides students with more opportunities to study in other prestigious business schools for one semester. In 2011, a total of 22 students were sent to 9 partner schools including University of Washington Foster School of Business, Manchester Business School, University of New South Wales Australian School of Business, National University of Singapore NUS Business School. This month the partner list grew again to 10.

Go specialized: (1) The finance courses at SAIF draw on advantages from finance programs in top business schools such as London Business School and MIT; (2) MBA courses focus on finance, integrated with general management courses, soft skills training and career counseling; (3) The MBA courses are arranged in modules, from the orientation module all the way to specialized tracks (capital market, corporate finance, general finance), enabling students from various backgrounds to cope well with the program and find the specific track that fits them best.

Go practice: SAIF emphasizes the application of theory, thus programs at SAIF offer close access to real-world finance. (1) Dual-mentor system, which means SAIF student not only has a professor as the academic advisor but also a business leader as the career mentor; (2) A perfect mixture of finance courses and lectures by industry leaders or scholars; (3) A state-of-the-art financial trading lab has been built to provide students with hands-on experience by mock trading with real-time data; (4) SAIF LIVE, the rare course in China that invites students to work with the project team in renowned financial institutions to deal with concrete financial cases.

Good news for students
With the view to attract talents from overseas, including Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau, the Global Impact Scholarship has been established exclusively for overseas students. Up to 8 candidates (the number subject to change) will have their tuition fee waived or half of it waived.

Though strategically located in Xujiahui, the traditional CBD in southeast Shanghai, SAIF is planning to build another station in Lujiazui, the financial center of Shanghai, for financial professionals to have easier access to top financial education in Asia.
