Fang Xinghai, who received his Bachelor’s degree from School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University and his PhD in Economics from Stanford University, is now the director-general of the Financial Service Office, Shanghai Municipal Government and a senior official of the Office of the Central Financial and Economic Affairs Leading Group. Formerly, Doctor Fang was the president of the Association of Chinese Officials of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund and the president of the Chinese Economists Society. He wrote a number of academic books and also published review articles in major economic and financial media both at home and abroad, including Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Caijing Magazine and China Business News.
