Dr. Zhan Jiang is a Term Professor, the EED Programs Faculty Director and Executive Director at Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Executive Director of Corporate Finance Research Center at China Academy of Finance Research (CAFR). Professor Jiang has led the construction of TechFin curriculum of SAIF. Professor Jiang served as the Academic Director for the Master of Finance program (2017-2020) of SAIF. Before joining SAIF, Professor Jiang served as an assistant professor of finance at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York (2008-2011).

Professor Jiang's research interests include TechFin and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). She has published over 10 high-standard academic articles in leading financial journals, including the Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, and Journal of Banking and Finance. From 2010 to 2020, her articles ranked among the top 1% of highly cited papers according to Essential Science Indicator (ESI). Since 2012, she has served in the past as a co-editor for a special issue on Financial Management in China for the Journal of Multinational Financial Management. Professor Jiang participated in the empirical research on the pricing efficiency of new share offerings under the registration system and was awarded the Outstanding Key Topic of the Year 2022 by the China Securities Association.

Professor Jiang has conducted numerous consulting and applied research projects, including research on financial ecology of science and technology innovation, valuation of science and technology innovation firms, case and empirical research on bankruptcy and restructuring of listed companies, pricing on restructuring of listed companies, white paper on mezzanine investment in China, white paper on metaverse (technology, application and economic paradigm), risk stress testing software for large commercial banks in China, investment and financing decision-making software for a private firm, consumer credit modeling using big data and machine learning methods, long-term investor research projects for Shanghai Stock Exchange, research of internet finance in Shanghai, research on the valuation of venture capital and private equity fund shares, analysis on the current situation and resolution path of financial institutions' risk assets.

Professor Jiang was a member of the Expert Advisory Committee for Mergers & Acquisitions and Restructuring as well as the Equity Investment Committee of the International Financiers Forum. Currently, she serves as deputy director of Science, Innovation and Financial Development Center and director of Young and Middle-aged Intellectuals Association of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Professor Jiang has received numerous awards, including the first SAIF Teaching Award in 2017, the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Excellent Educator award in 2019 and 2023, the "Candlelight Award" of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2020, the "March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetter" of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2021, and the "Advanced Individual" of Putuo District, Shanghai in 2023.
