Application Process
Eligibility
(i) Candidates must not be a citizen of China (including the Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao) at the time of application.
(ii) Candidates must have a Bachelor degree, with a high level of excellence in grades from the undergraduate institution.
(iii) Applicants must submit a complete set of application materials.

The admissions committee looks for outstanding merits in test scores, undergraduate academic performances, communication and leadership skills, and professional experience. We are looking for applicants from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds, and we review each application holistically.

Admissions Process
Step 1 - Apply for Admission
All application materials for the MF Program must be made electronically by May 31st, 2019 via the SAIF MF online application portal at:
http://regonline.saif.sjtu.edu.cn/apply/mf/19international
Application Materials Check - list:
1) A completed online application form (submitted from the application portal);
2) Current Resumes/CV;
3) Copy of graduation certificates and official university transcript;
4) Two reference letters;
5) Photocopy of the information page of your passport;
6) GMAT (Code:6QS‐S6‐21) / GRE(Code:4481) score report

Step 2 - Interviews
Interviews are by invitation only. An invitation to interview thus signals that your application has reached an advanced stage of consideration, but does not guarantee admission. For candidates who are not able to participate in on-site interviews, we will schedule skype interviews. Please note that we make every effort to conduct interviews on weekdays and during business hours.

Step 3 – Complete Application on SJTU Portal
All candidates admitted to the program need to complete the application steps on the Shanghai Jiaotong University portal: apply.sjtu.edu.cn (the portal will open on December 1st, 2018 and closes on May 31st, 2019).

For outstanding applicants, we will help you apply for the Chinese Government Special Scholarship. Please note that the first two steps must be completed before March 1st, 2019 if you want to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship. For more information, please review the Financial Aid section below.

Application Deadlines:
The Admissions Committee gives every application the fullest possible review and will notify applicants of their decision on or before the deadlines listed below.

MF Program Deadlines – For Fall 2019 entry
Applicants who wish to be considered for the Chinese Government Scholarship must submit their applications by: Friday, March 1, 2019, 5:00p.m., Shanghai Time
All applications are due: Tuesday, May 31, 2019, 5:00 p.m., Shanghai Time
The admissions committee notifies applicants of their decisions: Thursday, June 30, 2019

Financial Aid
SAIF Global Impact Scholarship
The SAIF Master of Finance (MF) Program is happy to announce the establishment of Global Impact Scholarships for international candidates from top universities world‐wide, applying for the 2 years full‐time MF program for matriculation in fall each year. The scholarship will cover full or partial international tuition (RMB 188,000 total for 2 years) for the students who meet the scholarship criteria. Pursuing your postgraduate studies is an important investment for your future, and all admitted students to the Masters of Finance program will be automatically considered for the Global Impact Scholarship.

Chinese Government Scholarship
Outstanding candidates have the opportunity to be recommended by the MF program to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship, which includes tuition deduction, accommodation subsidy and a monthly allowance (up to RMB 3,000/month). You may find more information of the scholarship via

Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan Applicants
Candidates from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan need to attend the National Exam in order to study at SAIF. Please find more information on the application process here. We also welcome students to come and experience the SAIF culture during the summer camp, where we offer conditional offers to the most outstanding students*.
